Having arrived from Swiss side Basel in the January transfer window back in 2016, Mohamed Elneny has been the absolute symbol of ordinariness.

The Egypt international has neither shone nor disappointed and has been one of those proverbial six-out-of-ten players week-in and week-in out for the majority of his Arsenal career.

However, after making a total of just 17 appearances across all competitions last season, questions over his long-term future at the Emirates have come to light.

According to El-Ahly, Elneny is on his way out of north London this summer, but is interested in remaining in the Premier League amidst interest from rival sides.

After hearing the news the 27-year-old could soon be departing the club, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to voice their opinion on the situation and many were seemingly relieved.

Gunners supporters seemed to express their relief that Elneny could be making a swift exit and hoped that the reported move would go through before the end of the transfer window next month.

Some revealed their hope that the Gunners board would try to get some decent money for him and potentially even make a profit on the initial £5m they spent to sign him.
