Arsenal loanee Reiss Nelson has been named as the Bundesliga’s October Rookie of the Month, and Gunners fans have been quick to react.
The 18-year-old followed in Jadon Sancho’s footsteps by making a switch to Germany in the summer in search of game time, although don’t worry Arsenal supporters, it is only a loan and the 5ft 9in ace will be back, unlike Sancho.
Scoring three goals in three appearances for Hoffenheim last month, including a brace to win the game for his side against Nuremberg, die Kraichgauer‘s number 9 is quickly becoming a trendsetter as German clubs increase their attention to English youth in recent weeks following the respective successes of Nelson and Sancho.
The London-born youngster has carried his form into November too, scoring a further two goals to take his tally for the season to six. Kylian Mbappe is the only teenager in Europe’s top five leagues to have outscored the winger.
Here’s how Arsenal fans on Twitter reacted to the achievement.
