Was Unai Emery really to blame for Arsenal’s loss to Liverpool at the weekend?

Last season’s Premier League runners-up and champions of Europe have hit the ground running again this term with another impressive run of results that has seen them smash through their opening three games.

The Gunners had been in relatively positive form themselves before they travelled north. Wins over Newcastle United and Burnley put them near the top of the table, and last year’s Golden Boot winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and partner Alexandre Lacazette had both already opened their accounts for the season.

Unfortunately, however, like so many teams before them, the Gunners collapsed against the unrelenting wave of Liverpool pressure and Emery’s men could do little but to bow out of the bout 3-1.

But could the result have been avoided?

While talkSPORT’s Danny Murphy evidently believes Emery's decision to switch formations was a fatal one (4-2-3-1 into 4-3-1-2), we’re not entirely sure fans are particularly happy with the comments made.
