Was Unai Emery really to blame for Arsenal’s loss to Liverpool at the weekend?
Last season’s Premier League runners-up and champions of Europe have hit the ground running again this term with another impressive run of results that has seen them smash through their opening three games.

The Gunners had been in relatively positive form themselves before they travelled north. Wins over Newcastle United and Burnley put them near the top of the table, and last year’s Golden Boot winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and partner Alexandre Lacazette had both already opened their accounts for the season.
Unfortunately, however, like so many teams before them, the Gunners collapsed against the unrelenting wave of Liverpool pressure and Emery’s men could do little but to bow out of the bout 3-1.
But could the result have been avoided?
While talkSPORT’s Danny Murphy evidently believes Emery’s decision to switch formations was a fatal one (4-2-3-1 into 4-3-1-2), we’re not entirely sure fans are particularly happy with the comments made.
Here’s a look at what the Gooners have been saying on Twitter about Murphy’s comments…
“It looked like a system which had been put on a board and they hadn’t worked on it.”
“They didn’t game manage.” ?

Mr hindsight Danny Murphy. Guess what pal only City will see Liverpool at the end of the season. PS the system almost paid off a couple of times if mainly Pepe had been more clinical

The best thing he is asked ”what is the best formation to beat Liverpool” proceeds to explain that the best one is the one arsenal used lol. They are a great team full stop. Not many if any will beat them at Anfield.

Liverpool are a better team than us period. No matter how we setup they were always going to win. Danny I think you forget they beat Barca 4-0 at home & when was the last time they lost at home in the league.
