Arsenal made a number of high-profile signings during the summer but Unai Emery has been patient bleeding his new acquisitions into his side at the Emirates Stadium.
Bernd Leno is amongst those who have had to wait for their opportunity with the Gunners, as the German goalkeeper has found himself behind Petr Cech in the pecking order and he still awaits his Premier League debut.
The Germany international made his long-awaited debut for the North London giants in last week’s Europa League victory over Vorskla and earned his second appearance in the midweek Carabao Cup victory over Brentford.
While Arsenal dominated the first half Brentford gave the hosts a stern challenge in the second period and Leno was denied a clean sheet by Alan Judge’s tremendous free-kick, but there was to be no comeback from the Championship side.
Leno made a number of saves during the game and also made a mistake in the opening seconds that could have led to embarrassment, which led to a variety of comments on social media. We have gathered some of the best below.
I must say today Leno showed why Cech is first choice over him

Keeper should always see the ball for free kicks
Leno never saw it until it passed the wall
Bit basic tbh

Leno may look good with the ball at his feet however he really should have done better with the Brentford goal yesterday #AFC
