Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s strike against Crystal Palace on Sunday was his 17th Premier League goal for Arsenal and also planted him firmly in the record books.
The Gabonese forward took the number 14 shirt upon his arrival at the Emirates, previously worn by club legend Thierry Henry, and is now looking like he may just about be worthy enough to wear it.
The speed demon has the best strike-rate in Premier League history for a player who has scored at least ten goals according to Squawka Football. His 17 goals have come in just 1,752 minutes, meaning his name is written on the scoresheet every 103.1 minutes.
OptaJoe was also quick to point out that the former Borussia Dortmund man has been directly involved in 22 goals in 23 appearances (17 goals and five assists) since his move to London in January, despite being shifted out to the left-wing occasionally and being a substitute for some.
Arsenal fans will be hoping for more of the same from their record-breaking star – here’s how they reacted on Twitter…
