After spending the season out on loan in Germany, Reiss Nelson will return to Arsenal looking to fight for his first-team place at his boyhood club.

The Gunners academy product has made no secret of his desire to make a success out of his Arsenal career and after a starring performance in England U21s dramatic 3-3 draw with Croatia on Monday night, fans of the north London side are understandably excited.

The 19-year-old won and converted a penalty to open the scoring for the Young Lions and was one of the side's more impressive performers with his dribbling and technique.

After watching the display, Gunners fans took to Twitter to express their delight at potentially seeing Nelson carve out a first-team spot at the Emirates next season.

Indeed, some Arsenal fans pointed to the Gunners' reported limited budget as another huge reason why the teenager should be handed more opportunities and lamented the fact Nelson's only appearance in the U21 European Championships came in the final game.

Emery's side's pre-season gets under way in less than two weeks and many revealed their hope that Nelson could be one of the main figures to establish himself for the Gunners now that the Young Lions have made an early exit from the competition.
