It's safe to say it hasn't been Sokratis' best season to date. The Greek international enjoyed a relatively impressive debut campaign at the club last season after arriving from Borussia Dortmund for a fee in the region of £17.7m.

As per Whoscored, he had an average match rating of 6.82 in the Premier League, and registered 1.7 tackles and 4.3 clearances per game. His start to the current season has been far more erratic, littered with errors that have gone on to cost the Gunners crucial goals.

It was the 31-year-old's mistake that led to Watford scoring from what essentially started out as an Arsenal goal-kick earlier on this year, whilst he was very lucky to see Southampton fail to capitalise on yet more kamikaze defending last weekend.

Against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night, he made no tackles, won no ground duels and registered a measly 6.6 match rating.

After seeing his poor display, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the centre-back.

Many Gunners supporters delivered a damning verdict on the former Dortmund ace, suggesting that he is amongst the worst players to have ever worn the shirt.
