Arsenal managed to get plenty of transfer business done early following Unai Emery’s appointment as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
The Spaniard, who was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, strengthened the defence with the signings of right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis.
Bernd Leno is expected to take over from Petr Cech as the team’s number one goalkeeper, while Lucas Torreira has added some extra steel to the midfield.
Matteo Guendouzi has also arrived at the club, but at 19 years old, the midfielder is earmarked as one for the future.
For some time, it has been widely suggested that Emery could benefit from signing a new winger and centre-back.
Croatia international Domagoj Vida has been linked to the North London outfit in recent weeks, but according to Haber1903, when Arsenal officials met with the defender’s club Besiktas this week, the discussions were regarding David Ospina and an unnamed player in Emery’s squad.
Twitter account @MrArsenicTM later posted that any deal for Vida was over.

Plenty of Arsenal fans are relieved as many did not think that the 29-year-old was the right one for them.
