Alex Iwobi has been at the centre of an attack from Arsenal fans on Twitter who have questioned the winger’s mentality after comments he made about a possible deal for Wilfried Zaha.
In an exclusive report from The Sun, Iwobi claimed he was ready to compete for his place but would leave if he didn’t get opportunities to play. He said:
“I am up for the fight but the only time I would consider leaving is if I am not playing as much as I would like to.”
However, the fact the Nigerian was ready to battle for a spot doesn’t seem to have been digested by a host of supporters who took to social media to lay into him for what he said.
One fan said the fact he could leave was the best news ever whilst another Gooner claimed Iwobi had embarrassed himself.
The 23-year-old was also branded as useless as a further fan said he had a loser mentality.

Zaha, meanwhile, has been the subject of a £40m bid from Arsenal this summer.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
What kind of mentality is that from a professional footballer. Even if your were thinking it why embarrass yourself by putting it out there. ?♂️

Yes he is free to quit. He is a B grade player talking like an A grade player. He needs to shut up and show his talent on the pitch

If true then it shows his mentality, doesn’t want to fight for his place IF its true of course, I’d straight swap with cash for zaha

That’s the mentality he has.. if he’s not getting it easy he’s gone. Fight for your place..

I hope he does..: he is useless ?

That’s the epitome what’s wrong with the players mentality at Arsenal. This is what needs breeding out. They get healthy competition for places and they all shit themselves. You earn & put the work in for the starting 11. It’s not automatically yours.
He can go if that’s the case

Loser mentality. Doesn’t wanna compete, wants to get easy game time with no pressure on him – probably the reason he hasn’t improved in the slightest despite being in and around the first team for years. Still living off his uncles name ?
