Arsenal’s performance against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon left a lot to be desired as the Gunners struggled for much creativity before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s opener.
One of the reasons was because of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s inability to pick the lock of the Newcastle defence.
He made some promising progressive runs but regularly gave the ball away in a display which left a host of supporters incredibly angry with his performance.
Fans took to Twitter during the game to lay into the Armenian who missed Arsenal’s last competitive match because of security reasons.
One individual said the attacking midfielder should just retire whilst another said he was pathetically poor.
Others decided to focus on the £200k a week wage he’s earning at the club as a fan claimed he was robbing a living. A further tweeter said they couldn’t wait to get him off the books at Arsenal.
His performance against the Magpies on Sunday summed that up.
Here’s the best of the discussion.
He should just retire. He’s robbing us for 200k each week, but we can only blame ourselves with that stupid Alexis swap deal.

Shhh, maybe if we all pretend he’s not awful then someone will buy him? Or take him for free? Please?

His passing, except from the play-through for Auba, has been awful…

At this point it’s in his interest as well as the team’s that he is kept out of the side.
He’s been a real hinderence to our build-up on so many occasions.

As always. He is just very poor. One good pass the rest just bounce of him like he is made of concrete or something.

Feels like he is single handedly trying to rob me of my new season optimism!…. honestly – £200k a week!!!!! ?

Can’t wait to get him off the books. £200k p/w is laughable, robbing a living. He’s never really done it for us.
