Arsenal fans slam Alex Iwobi following humiliating Ostersund defeat

In one of the more embarrassing results in the clubs’ recent history, Arsenal lost 2-1 on Thursday evening to Swedish minnows Ostersund, who were playing part-time football less than two years ago.

Thankfully over two legs, the Gunners did just about enough to qualify for the next round. However, it will not take away the shame that a number of their players should be feeling for the next few days.

Callum Chambers, Rob Holding, Mohamed Elneny, Ashley Maitland-Niles, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck all totally under performed on the night and fans let the team know their feelings through boo’s and jeers at half-time and full-time.

However, fans reserved special condemnation for Alex Iwobi, who played the entire 90 minutes of the second leg.

The Nigerian international, who is valued at £9 million by Transfermarkt, had a pretty terrible evening at the Emirates and not for the first time this season, failed to impress.

Following the embarrassing defeat on the evening, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at Iwobi’s performance…
