Arsenal recorded their first win in four games thanks to an emphatic Jefferson Lerma own goal and a textbook Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang strike as they sunk Bournemouth on Sunday, but not all fans were entirely pleased with what they saw on the pitch.
Unai Emery has taken strides to improve the Gunners defence as he brings in the likes of Sokratis and Stephan Lichtsteiner to add some experience and steel to the backline, but the weak points were still there to be seen as the Cherries threatened on the counter, namely Shkodran Mustafi who has been an ever-present for them in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old, who Emery is clearly a fan of, brought down Callum Wilson on the edge of the box as the Englishman sought to level proceedings for a second time, and the Emirates faithful surely had their hearts in their mouths as Junior Stanislas stepped up to take the subsequent free-kick in the 95th minute.
With the scoreline at 2-1, this was Eddie Howe’s side’s last chance to get a result but, to the relief of a small portion of those in attendance at the Vitality Stadium, Stanislas’ effort flew high and wide.
Regardless, many Arsenal fans would not be so quick to forgive Mustafi’s shaky performance as they took to Twitter to slam the former Valencia man – with some going into full meltdown mode and even accusing him of trying to sabotage the win.
Mustafi is the stupidest player we’ve ever signed.

Must you foul at the edge of the box in stoppage time? Nearly cost us the game.
