It is safe to say that Carl Jenkinson will not go down in history as an Arsenal legend.
The right-back has been at the North London outfit since his 2011 switch from Charlton Athletic, but in recent years he has tumbled down the pecking order.
The 26-year-old has had loan spells at West Ham United and Birmingham City, but injury problems have taken its toll.
Jenkinson missed the deadline to be sold to another English club, but the transfer window is still open abroad, and Football League outfits can seal loans until the end of August.
News coming out of the club on Thursday, though, suggests that the right-back will be at Arsenal for the season.
Via their official website, the Gunners confirmed that Jenkinson will be on the treatment table for six to eight weeks after spraining his right ankle.
In reaction to the update, plenty of Arsenal fans vented their frustration on Twitter.
I now feel like Jenkinson fakes his injuries to get the paycheck, I’d ban the man if I could
