Arsenal fans learned earlier today that Alexandre Lacazette could be out of action for up to six weeks.

The forward has been hit with a knee injury, which means that the team are now an attacker short for the next month or so.

Lacazette has scored nine goals and created three assists in 26 Premier League appearances this season.

The Frenchman has been handed 22 starts in the top flight, but he has rarely finished a full 90 minutes under manager Arsene Wenger.

Following the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, Lacazette's time on the pitch was likely to be even more limited.

Given that Arsenal are in Europa League action against Ostersunds on Thursday and their new striker is cup-tied, attention has now turned to who can step up and take Lacazette's place.

The options being discussed by supporters are Danny Welbeck and 18-year-old Eddie Nkeitah, who has not started a senior game this season.

Welbeck blows hot and cold with the fans, particularly as he has been in and out of the team due to injuries.

The Arsenal following have taken to Twitter to give their suggestions.
