Arsenal fans urge club to sign Mario Lemina after latest Southampton display

Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina was arguably the best player on the pitch in the first 45 minutes of his side’s 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at St Mary’s on Sunday before he was forced off early in the second period because of illness, and Arsenal fans have urged their club to sign the 24-year-old.

The Gabon international started alongside Oriol Romeu in the middle of the park for the south coast outfit, and he showed the ability he has and his quick feet when he was in possession, often getting the better of his opponents.

The summer signing from Juventus has struggled with injury at times this season, but he looks to be getting back to his best after this display and his man of the match performance and stunning goal in the 3-2 win against West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.

Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on Lemina via social media, and while one said he “will only improve under Wenger”, another said he “will fit perfectly into our defensive midfield”.
