Losing 2-1 to Newcastle United at St James' Park was always going to spark a negative reaction from Arsenal supporters.

Numerous players were put under the microscope on Twitter, including the majority of Arsene Wenger's defensive line.

Goalkeeper Petr Cech was also heavily criticised by the supporters, with many calling on the club to sell him this summer.

The former Chelsea shot-stopper has been Arsenal's number one since his switch from Stamford Bridge in 2015.

This season, in particular though, the 35-year-old has struggled to maintain form in between the sticks.

Cech has been vulnerable to mistakes, and on Sunday he failed to prevent a comeback from Newcastle, who had gone 1-0 down after 14 minutes due to a goal from Alexandre Lacazette.

Just before the half-hour mark, Ayoze Perez struck to pull one back for the Magpies, and then Matt Ritchie secured the winner in the second half.

The result was particularly damning for Arsenal given that they are the only football club in England's top four divisions that have not earned a single point away from home in 2018.
