Swansea City moved closer to relegation to the Championship following their 1-0 defeat against fellow strugglers Southampton at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night, and Arsenal fans want their club to re-sign former goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The 33-year-old made a number of fine saves throughout the match for the Swans – particularly from Saints striker Charlie Austin – but he couldn't prevent Manolo Gabbiadini poking home in the second half.

The Poland international has been a solid performer for the Welsh outfit and has clearly improved following some dodgy performances between the sticks for the Gunners, and his displays obviously haven't gone unnoticed by the Emirates Stadium faithful, who 78% of on Twitter want Petr Cech to be sold this summer.

Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on Fabianski's most recent showing via social media, and while one said "I'd take him back and make him #1", another said "re-sign Fabianski immediately when Swansea's relegation is confirmed".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
