Arsenal fans want to sign Abdoulaye Doucoure after Watford display against them

Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure impressed and showed his strengths in his side’s 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at Vicarage Road on Monday night, and Gunners fans took to Twitter to say they want to sign the Frenchman.

The 26-year-old is a box-to-box player who has plenty of impressive attributes in his game, which he displayed against the north London outfit under the floodlights.

The 6 ft star is decent in the air and used his muscle to dominate the likes of Aaron Ramsey, while he also showed his athleticism and quality when in possession of the ball.

It is something that didn’t go unnoticed by Arsenal supporters on Twitter with many seemingly keen to see him arrive at the Emirates Stadium in the future.

One said they “would love to get him at Arsenal to replace Xhaka”, while another described him as “a big Torrerira”.

Those are just two of the players he would likely be competing with for a spot in the centre of the park should Unai Emery decide to go and get him, with Matteo Guendouzi and Mohamed Elneny the other two options as Aaron Ramsey heads for the exit door in the summer.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
