Arsenal fans want to sign Jadon Sancho after watching him against Tottenham

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho featured for his side in their 3-0 Champions League defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Wednesday night, and Arsenal fans were quick to take to Twitter to urge their club to sign the teenager, whom Arsene Wenger admitted on beIN sports he tried to sign when he was manager.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant 2018/19 season with the Bundesliga leaders – scoring eight goals and providing a further 13 assists in 29 appearances in all competitions – and would have hoped to make an impact in north London in the first leg of the last 16 tie against Spurs.

While the exciting attacker showed his sheer speed and skill at times, Jan Vertonghen generally did a great job at keeping the England international relatively quiet, before he was taken off in the 88th minute.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have two great strikers in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, but perhaps don’t have a plethora of quality options in wide areas to help feed the duo.

Arsenal supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Sancho’s performance, and while one said he “could be a game-changer alongside Aubameyang”, another simply said “need him at Arsenal”.
