Arsenal failed to win away from home in the English Premier League again on Sunday, slipping to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Gunners are the only side in England’s top four divisions not to pick up a point away from home in 2018, a dismal record that continues to pile pressure on under-fire manager Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal actually took the lead against Newcastle thanks to a Alexandre Lacazette strike before Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie struck to send away supporters home unhappy once again.
Fans were left frustrated with the performance, particularly from the side’s defence, with many believing big changes are needed this summer in Wenger’s defensive line.
Supporters simply aren’t convinced with the likes of Rob Holding continuing to be selected, with the 22-year-old again criticised for his performance against the Magpies.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his display…
Rob Holding has failed to convince me since the FA Cup final, almost a year ago, usually top level defenders lacking pace have a good football IQ, he has neither. He wouldn’t look out of place back at Bolton. #AFC

Rob Holding cost us £4m and that's how much he is worth tbh.

Arsenal's defending a major problem since 2007 yet it somehow remains unaddressed. Poor buys and incompetent coaching at the root of the issue. You are not winning major titles with Calum Chambers and Rob Holding in your backline

Rob Holding and Calum Chambers really are hust nowhere good enough. Joe Willock too, by the looks of things

The trio of Mustafi, Chambers and Rob Holding are nowhere near good enough for a club with statue of Arsenal. Hope they all move on in d summer.

Wenger’s focus is clearly on the Europa League. When you play Holding, Chambers and a couple of 18 year olds on their Premier League debut, it’s obvious Wenger knows the PL is over for #Arsenal this season. Arsenal have been woeful this PL season #Arsenal #AFC

If people cant see that Holding and Chambers are not good enough, then you are stubborn as Wenger. Should never be near the first 11. #arsenal
