Arsenal first-teamer nearing move opening door for big name star

Arsenal’s David Ospina is on the verge of completing a £3.2m move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, and the Daily Star claim that the deal will open the door for Petr Cech’s arrival from Chelsea.

The Colombian only joined the Gunners last summer from Nice after impressing at the World Cup, and spent much of the opening half of the season on the bench.

However, Wojciech Szczesny’s first-team axing over the winter period saw Arsene Wenger turn to the South American, who became the goalkeeper of choice at the Emirates Stadium in Premier League action.

He shone as the London side recovered from a below-par start to the start of the campaign, but his future now looks bleak with the club reportedly closing in on a deal for Chelsea’s Cech, who would seemingly be the candidate to fill the vacant spot.

And it appears that a move to Fener is on the cards, with the Istanbul-based side having agreed a £3.2m for his services as well as a significant £1.5m-per-year contract, according to HaberTurk.

Ospina is currently away at the Copa America in Chile, and helped his side to beat Brazil 1-0 on Wednesday night.
