The France outfit were recently linked with West Ham’s Modibo Maiga but now seem prepared to switch their interest to 28-year-old South Korean forward Park Chu-Young, who has failed to make an impact in North London since arriving from Monaco in 2011.
St. Etienne are in the market for a striker after selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Borussia Dortmund this summer, and manager Christophe Galtier is reportedly weighing up a move for Park, although it is not yet clear whether it will be a temporary or permanent move.
It deal can be agreed, Park will be the 23rd player to leave Arsenal this summer, while manager Arsene Wenger has only managed to bring in two replacements as the transfer window enters it’s final four days.
Park spent last season on-loan to Spanish outfit Celta Vigo, making 21 appearances and scoring three goals.
Meanwhile, Wenger is weighing up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Kaka after he revealed the time is right for him to leave the Bernabeu after four years in Spain, but it is believed Manchester United boss David Moyes is also interested in bringing the Brazilian to the Premier League as a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes.
