Arsenal have been given the go-ahead to reignite their interest in Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata, according to talkSPORT.
The Gunners attempted to sign the highly rated striker on loan in January, but were rebuffed by the La Liga giants.
Arsene Wenger opted against chasing another forward to act as competition for Olivier Giroud, mindful that Morata may consider his future at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has had regular first team football hard to come by at the Bernabeu, and is reportedly keen on a move to the Emirates in order to get more first team action.
Morata has only managed 227 minutes of La Liga action all season, with the emergence of another Real academy graduate Jese Rodriguez, pushing him further down Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order.
Real Madrid are now willing to listen to offers for the young Spaniard, but reports suggest they will look to put a buy-back clause in any deal.
Wenger has come in for criticism for his failure to sign a new forward in January, with the Gunners now four points behind league leaders Chelsea after losing 1-0 to Stoke City at the Britannia on Saturday.
