Having failed to make any permanent signings in the January transfer window, it appears Arsenal have suffered yet another blow.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea have agreed a €40m (£33.5m) deal with Ajax to sign attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech in the summer - the news was then later confirmed by the Blues' official club website.

The Morocco international was reportedly of interest to Arsenal even last month, and the 26-year-old even publicly admitted that his "ultimate dream" would be either Barcelona or the Gunners.

Before the news of Ziyech's move was officially confirmed by Chelsea, fans of the north London side took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the situation.

A couple of fans appeared to take aim at Raul Sanllehi, with one supporter in particular insisting he can't even "lace David Dein's boots".

One fan in particular meanwhile bemoaned the fact they reportedly turned down the chance to sign him last summer.

At just 26-years-old, the Moroccan is approaching arguably the peak years of his career in professional football.

And his performances this season for Ajax under-line exactly that. In 30 games across all competitions, he has scored eight times and provided a quite remarkable 21 assists.

His ability to play as a number ten, or on either flank, means he would have been a superb addition to the Gunners, perhaps replacing Mesut Ozil in the long-term, or even playing alongside him.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's summer signing is finally proving his worth.
