Arsenal could be handed a boost amid their mounting injury crisis, according to the Daily Mail.
Alexis Sanchez could soon return from a hamstring problem before the end of the year, as Gunners chief Arsene Wenger expects him to feature with the December 21st clash with Manchester City.
The Chilean superstar fell foul to the injury in the draw against Norwich, sparking fears he could miss an extended period as the North London giants bid to launch a title assault.
However, Wenger has allayed fears his 26-year old forward could be ruled out for longer than 10 days.
‘No new injuries’, stated Wenger at a press conference ahead of Sunday’s game with Aston Villa, ‘Sanchez is the shortest one, the rest will be back after Christmas.’
The Emirates outfit have seen talent at their disposal depleted in recent weeks as key midfield duo Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin were ruled out for a number of months with knee problems.
The pair add to a list already containing the likes of Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and skipper Mikel Arteta.
Wenger revealed his side would be taking an interest in the January transfer market, but will not buy players simply because of his lengthy injury list.
‘We will be out there and seeing what we can do, but we have the whole of December to go and we are in a strong position in the Premier League.’
