Arsenal head-to-head with Man City in £32m transfer battle

Arsenal are firmly in the hunt for Real Madrid’s Isco, with reports from Metro claiming that scouts from North London have been watching the midfielder of late.

The Spain international has long been thought of as one of La Liga’s top youngsters, with the 23-year-old having impressed in his two season at the Bernabeu, despite finding playing time relatively difficult to come by.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly keen to snap up the player he coached at Malaga in a deal worth around £32m, but Arsenal are also in the mix.

Although the Gunners possess a wealth of talented players able to play in the ‘No.10’ role, Isco is still on Arsene Wenger’s radar, with scouts having been assessing his performances.

The pass-master started his career with Valencia, but moved to Malaga in search of regular football, which he found under Pellegrini.

Isco is able to play in an attacking midfield role, but has filled in for Luka Modric in a deeper position of late.
