Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to bring a versatile defender to the club, capable of playing at both centre-back or on the flanks.
Denayer is currently on the books at Manchester City, but with the club heavily linked with a move for Leonardo Bonucci, the French manager is positive he could tempt the Belgium to move to London. The 21-year-old hasn’t made his Premier League debut yet.
However, a stumbling block for the Gunners is that the defender signed a new contract last summer, and is rated at £15million by the Citizens. Arsenal reportedly bid £5million last summer, and didn’t return with a second bid when it was rejected.
Giant played 24 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund last season, scoring 3 goals, as the German outfit finished 2nd behind Bayern Munich. He played against both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in the UEFA Europa League.
Arsenal were hoping to sign both defenders for between £10m and £12million each.
