According to the Express, Arsenal are the latest Premier League club to show an interest in Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi and are considering launching a bid for the former Stoke City man.

What’s the story?

Arsene Wenger appears to be seeking to add more depth to his midfield and has marked out N’Zonzi as a possible recruit.

According to the Express, Sevilla have accepted that the Frenchman might leave the club in the coming weeks and Wenger is tempted to compete for the midfielder’s signature.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been aligned with the former Blackburn man, and there is every chance even more top clubs from across Europe will come in for him should it look likely he'll move on in the next few weeks given his performances in Spain since his move from Stoke in the summer of 2015.

Who Is he?

Although the French midfielder is still awaiting his first cap for his country, he has been a regular fixture in the Sevilla team so far this season, and since joining the La Liga side he has made over 40 league appearances and scored five goals for the club.

He is known for being calm and composed while in possession of the ball and has even been compared to Patrick Vieira due to his physicality and style of play.

The 28-year-old was instrumental in Sevilla’s Europa League success last season, helping the club to defeat Liverpool in the final.

If Wenger can get the deal done this January, the player will provide depth in Arsenal’s midfield as they look to challenge for a top four finish this season.
