Arsenal could reignite their interest in Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, according to the Express.
The Gunners were reportedly interested in the Kenya international two years ago when he was at Celtic, but failed to meet their asking price.
But now it is being reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is lining up a £15m bid for the 24-year-old in January, after he admitted his interest in him last week.
Wenger said of Wanyama: “I rate the player, but we are not on the case, we will see what is there.”
Arsenal’s injuries worries this term has left Wenger alarmingly short in midfield this season, with Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere all spending time on the treatment table.
However, the Express also claim that Wenger has a Plan B up his sleeve should he fail to land Wanyama in January.
It is believed he is eyeing a £10m raid for Paris Satin-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot as an alternative target to Wanyama.
