Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made a new stopper one of his priorities, and is thought to be lining up potential arrivals this winter.
Guzan has emerged as one of the Frenchman’s top targets, following a series of impressive displays for the Villans.
The American was key in keeping Villa in the Premier League last season, with his goalkeeping heroics helping Paul Lambert’s men move clear of the relegation zone in the closing weeks of the campaign.
His fine form has continued this season, which has seen Arsenal’s interest emerge.
Wenger was linked with a move for QPR’s Julio Cesar over the summer, but is believed to see the 29-year-old USA international as a wiser investment.
Guzan successfully dislodged Shay Given to become Villa’s number one last year and has quickly made himself one of the first names on Lambert’s team sheet.
Naturally, the club are keen to keep him, but serious interest from a Champions League side may be enough to turn the keeper’s head.
Wenger is also thought to be looking at midfielders, with Lazio’s Hernanes high on his list of potential signings.
Could Brad Guzan be the goalkeeper Arsenal need?
