Arsenal have launched a bid to sign Borussia Dortmund star Kevin Grosskreutz, according to the Daily Star.
The versatile 26-year-old, who can play right-back or anywhere across the midfield, has 18 months remaining on his Dortmund contract and the Daily Star claim he would be open to a move to his ‘boyhood’ club.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is eager to bring in reinforcements this month and have offered a fee in the region of £3.7million for the versatile German.
Borussia Dortmund have struggled in the Bundesliga this season and the Daily Star are reporting that the German club’s poor league position could be a key factor in Grosskreutz wanting to leave for the Premier League.
Grosskreutz was a member of the German squad that won the World Cup in Brazil last summer, although he failed to make an appearance in the competition.
The player started both of Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League group stage matches against Arsenal earlier this season.
