Arsenal legend Sol Campbell says he would have liked to have worked with Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti during his playing days, when asked by fans which current managers in the world he have liked to play under.
Campbell signed for the Gunners from north London rivals Tottenham in 2001 and was a key member of the famous Invincibles team of the 2003/2004 season, where the Gunners become the first team to go an entire Premier League campaign unbeaten.
Speaking at Europcar’s Arsenal Fans of the Season launch event at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, Campbell exclusively told FootballFanCast.com: “Whatever Mourinho is going through right now, he still would have been quite interesting to be managed by.
“Ancelotti is a top man on and off the field. He is a real man’s man, you can have a conversation with him off the field too. It is always quite nice to see that side.”
Europcar, Arsenal’s official car and van rental partners, hosted a select group of active independent Arsenal bloggers and Arsenal fans who were invited to the Emirates to watch the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Norwich City.
The bloggers and fans were given the opportunity to individually interview Gunners legend Campbell, as well as partake in an audience Q+A before the game, where Campbell lifted the lid on his switch from Spurs to Arsenal and what he thinks of the Gunners’ season so far.
