Arsenal fans are an argumentative bunch and the majority of debates going on in recent years surround manager Arsene Wenger, with many unhappy with the lack of success the Gunners have achieved since leaving Highbury for the Emirates Stadium.
Wenger has won two FA Cup’s in the past three years but was criticised once again last year by the Gunners failure to push Leicester City for the Premier League title, whilst an early Champions League exit at the hands Barcelona was again criticised- with Arsenal also falling short in the FA Cup, losing to Watford.
However, Arsenal have looked in better form this season and last night’s victory over Ludogorets made it seven consecutive victories in all competitions, with the Gunners unbeaten in their last 11 and winning nine of those matches.
The performances have raised expectations once again and whilst fans may turn if things start to slip away, Arsenal legend David Seaman believes Wenger’s deal should be extended.
“I hope he stays, they should go all out to keep him,” he said.
“It doesn’t work out straight away every time. Manchester United have struggled a little bit since Sir Alex left. They have changed managers again and have a great one now.”
Wenger celebrated twenty years in charge of Arsenal earlier this month but his current deal expires at the end of the season, with many predicting he’s looking for one final honour before bowing out.
