Arsenal’s chances of sealing a 2016 move for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir have taken a hit, with the player having confessed that it’s his “dream” to play for Barcelona.
The France international was one of the stars of his side’s impressive 2014/15 campaign, with his on-field relationship with Alexandre Lacazette having almost fired the club to Ligue 1 glory at the expense of Middle Eastern-backed giants Paris Saint-Germain.
His performances have alerted Arsenal, who are understood to be keen despite the 22-year-old’s injury concerns – he’s been ruled out for the bulk of the current campaign with an ACL problem.
And even when he returns to action the Gunners may face a real battle to snap up the talented forward, who has confessed that he wants to play for Barca:
“In my head, I have many dreams. I will not talk about them all immediately,” he told l’Equipe (via albawaba.com). “I want to do my best for Lyon and then join a big club – that’s my goal.
“My favourite team is Barcelona, but I’m aware that much work is needed. To play for Barcelona one day is my dream.
Arsenal may be forced into the January transfer market for an attack-minded addition with Alexis Sanchez set to miss the coming months with a hamstring injury.
