Arsenal looking to beat London rivals to 5 foot 9 assassin, transfer talks held

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Arsenal have held talks over the potential summer transfer of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The 5 foot 9 forward has bagged 76 goals in 138 appearances across the last three seasons, including a 27-goal haul for the 2014/15 campaign that saw him pick up Ligue 1’s Player of the Year award.

The France international was left out of Didier Deschamps’ Euro 2016 squad but nonetheless remains in demand this summer, with plenty of Premier League clubs reportedly chasing his signature.

Indeed, French publication L’Equipe claim West Ham have already tabled a £40million bid for Lacazette and The Daily Mail document the East London club’s interest once again.

But it appears Arsenal are a step ahead of the Gunners in pursuit of the 25-year-old, having held talks over a potential summer move.

However, the north Londoners are still reluctant to meet Lyon’s valuation of their star goalscorer, a lofty £42million.
