According to reports from The Daily Mail, Arsenal are continuing to monitor Chilean youngster Marcelo Allende.
The midfielder captains his country at U17 level and impressed during the U17 World Cup on home soil last year, playing in all of their Group Stage fixtures and scoring against Team USA to secure his side a spot in the Round of 16 – where they were eventually knocked out by Mexico.
The 16-year-old has been dubbed ‘the next Alexis Sanchez‘ by other media outlets, having begun his career at the same club as the Arsenal star, Cobreloa.
The Gunners recently had Allende on a two-week trial at their training ground, London Colney, and although the north London club have not made an approach to acquire him permanently, they will continue to monitor his progress in domestic Chilean football.
Sanchez reportedly informed the teenager that he must improve upon his physicality, especially considering he measures in at just 5 foot 4, if he wants to be a success in the Premier League.
