According to the Fanatik, Arsenal target Arda Turan is closing in on a January loan-deal to Turkish club Galatasaray.

What's the Story?

The nightmare for Barcelona star Arda Turan could be about to end. According to reports in Turkey, the 30-year-old is closing in on a return to his homeland with Galatasaray.

The loan deal would cost the Turkish giants £1.5million and would include an option to buy Turan permanently at the end of the season.

Arsenal, who have been linked to Turan for sometime, look as though they may miss out on the former Atletico Madrid star. However, they would be wise to make a late charge in order to land a player whose genuine talents have been wasted at Barcelona.

Arda to Arsenal?

With the futures of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in doubt, Arsenal must look to a future without their two star players. They need to start planning replacements now, in order to appease the fans but also ensure that the squad remains competitive, even without Sanchez and Ozil.

Arda Turan represents a perfect opportunity for Wenger to achieve this. If they were to match Galatasaray's offer, they would lose very little money and would have the ability to decide whether to keep Turan past the end of the season.

If Sanchez and/or Ozil stay at the Emirates, Turan can return to Barcelona. Conversely, if Sanchez and Ozil both depart, Arsenal will be able to sign the Turkish international as a permanent replacement for a relatively small fee, if Transfermarket's £13.5million valuation is anything to go by.
