The Standard are reporting that the Gunners have been watching the Poland international for over a year now and are now ready to make their move to bring him to north London in January, following the injury to Francis Coquelin.

Meanwhile, The Independent are reporting that Arsenal have agreed a £5m deal for FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

With a number of injuries to midfield players this term, Arsene Wenger is in the market for reinforcements and if the report is to be believed, Elneny will complete his move to the Emirates Stadium if he can successful complete a full medical and agree personal terms.

The 23-year-old Egypt international has made 91 Swiss Super League appearance for Basel since signing from Egyptian outfit El Mokawloon in 2013.
