Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is set to be backed in the transfer market by the club’s board in a bid to assemble a side capable of fighting for title and Champions League qualification.
The Frenchman completed a deadline day swoop for Mesut Ozil, but is still keen to bolster his midfield options this winter.
Reus and Draxler are said to be his top two targets, with moves for the pair being weighed up.
Draxler is said to be Wenger’s top target, with the wonderkid having been impressive for some time.
Scouts have assessed the 20-year-old, and have sent back glowing reports.
Schalke are desperate to keep their star man, but are thought to be willing to sell for around £34m.
Reus is also on the club’s radar following a number of fine displays for Dortmund.
The wide forward was a key man in the Bundesliga side’s run to the Champions League final last term.
Reus has a buyout clause of £34m, which may be enough to see the club suspend their pusuit until next summer.
