Arsenal are reportedly planning a summer move for Borussia Dortmund’s £12million-rated right-back Lukasz Piszczek, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen to bring in another right-back in the summer due to concerns over the long-term fitness of Bacary Sagna.
There has been speculation that Sagna could depart when the transfer window reopens but it is thought Wenger is keen to keep hold of the 30-year-old, who is out of contract in 2014, despite his interest in the Dortmund defender.
Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Sagna in the past and if the French outfit do move for the current Gunners defender, Wenger is likely to step up his own efforts to bring in Piszczek, as the Gunners are reluctant to offer Sagna more than a one-year contract extension.
Piszczek has been a key member of the Dortmund side this season and has played a big part in their march to the Champions League final.
The Polish international, 27, is under contract until 2016 and Dortmund will be reluctant to sell the defender, but it’s been reported that Arsenal have scouted Piszczek on a number of occasions this season and could test the water with a £12m bid in the summer.
