Arsenal quoted £50m for free-scoring forward, deal can be done (not Higuain)

Arsenal have enquired about the possibility of signing Alexandre Lacazette this summer, but have elected to look at other targets for the time being due to Lyon’s €60m (£50m) demands, according to Get French Football News.

The France international, who was excluded from Didier Deschamps’ EURO 2016 plans, has been one of Ligue 1’s most dangerous forwards over the course of the past three seasons, smashing an impressive 63 goals in total.

His performances have led to interest from a host of big European sides, including Liverpool, and reports claim that Arsenal have looked at him in recent months.

It’s understood that Arsene Wenger approached his club through intermediaries, but Lyon came back with demands of £50m, with add-ons included, which promoted the Gunners to look at other targets.

However, GFFN believe that the deal is still open for the London club, who are currently keeping a close eye on Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain.

Should they match their cross-Channel counterparts’ demands, Lacazette could become the most expensive player in the club’s history.
