Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to afford Calum Chambers a loan spell away from the club this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The 21-year old was a summer signing from Southampton in 2014, though has struggled for consistency since making the £16m switch.
Though he remains highly rated by the Gunners, he has dropped out of the picture for both club and country and only started games in the FA Cup since the turn of the year.
The loan move is believed to be an attempt to develop the player further while the North London giants ramp up attempts to lure in a new centre-back.
Saints, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are all understood to be keeping a close eye on proceedings.
Defensive frailty has been a sewing motif at the Emirates this season, with manager Arsene Wenger constantly coming under criticism for his leaky backline.
The likes of Kostas Manolas of Roma and Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli have both been linked with big money moves.
