Arsenal ready to pay £10m for 17-year-old sensation

Arsenal are keen on West Ham’s teenage ace Reece Oxford and are ready to offer £10m for his signature, according to reports from The Sun.

The 17-year-old burst onto the scene earlier this season, with his performance as the Hammers beat the Gunners in the opening game of the Premier League campaign notable.

Oxford successfully shackled Mesut Ozil (at the age of 16) as West Ham clinched victory against their London rivals, but has since dipped away from Slaven Bilic’s starting XI as he continues to develop.

But, even though the youngster has somewhat disappeared, reports claim that Arsenal remain keen, with a £10m summer move possible.

It’s understood that Arsene Wenger has instructed scouts to monitor the defensive midfielder ever since he shone at the Emirates Stadium, and it appears that they’ve been suitably impressed with him.

Oxford has been capped at U-16 and U-17 level for England, and started his youth career with bitter rivals, Spurs.
