According to reports from The Daily Mail, Arsenal have launched an enquiry into the availability of Leicester City prospect Ben Chilwell.
The 19-year-old defender is rated as one of English football’s most exciting youngsters and made his first-team debut for the Foxes in the Capital One Cup earlier this season.
The full-back has also registered two appearances in the FA Cup – both against Tottenham Hotspur – since returning to the King Power Stadium in January following an impressive loan spell in the Championship with Huddersfield Town.
Leicester intend to offer Chilwell an improved contract in the coming weeks, with his current deal – which sees him take home just £800 per week – set to expire at the end of next season.
But Arsenal are so determined to land the Milton-Keynes-born teenager before the end of the January transfer window that they’re prepared to pay in excess of £5million – for a player who is yet to register a single Premier League appearance.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly keen on Chilwell.
