Arsenal ready to save £10m Newcastle hero

Arsenal are back in the race for former Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye and are ready to end his Paris Saint-Germain nightmare, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Frenchman left St James’ Park in January 2014 to sign for the Ligue 1 champions after emerging as one of the Premier League’s finest playmakers.

However, he’s struggled for game time at the Parc des Princes, with PSG’s host of talented and established midfielders having limited him to a fringe role.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger came close to landing Cabaye back in 2013, and is now ready to revive his interest in the silky passer.

The Gunners chief can offer the ex-Lille star regular playing time, and could use him as a replacement for captain Mikel Arteta, whose future is in doubt.

Reports claim a £10m offer is on Wenger’s agenda, which is some way below the £15.5m PSG paid just over 18 months ago.
