The Poland international is currently on loan at Roma after falling down Arsene Wenger’s pecking order following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
Szczesny has impressed in Italy at the Stadio Olimpico, leading to suggestions that the Rome heavyweights are eager to keep him on, but a proposal to extend his temporary deal has been rebuffed as Arsenal are reportedly looking to sell.
The Gunners want a figure of around €15m (£11.6m) for their stopper, who, at 25, has his best years ahead of him.
A London comeback is an option, but Szczesny would surely have to settle for a back-up role.
The glovesman was a part of both the 2013/14 and 2014/15 FA Cup successes, playing a major part in the latter.
