Arsenal readying take-it-or-leave-it £33.8m offer for goal-machine forward

Arsenal are readying a final ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ offer of €40m (£33.8m) for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports from Squawka.

The Gunners have endured a quiet summer on the transfer front so far, with Granit Xhaka their only serious addition – Takuma Asano and Rob Holding are youthful, inexperienced players.

A move for Gonzalo Higuain fell apart and the Argentine has since joined Juventus, but it seems that Arsenal remain keen to lure a big name forward to the north of London, and reports claim that they are preparing one last offer for Lacazette.

It’s understood that the Premier League heavyweights are willing to pay £33.8m for the prolific marksman, which would make him one of the club’s most expensive players.

Recent reports suggested that Arsenal have already had one bid, worth around €35m (£29.5m), for the 25-year-old rejected, although that was made back in June.

There are some concerns at the club that Lacazette, who has netted 48 goals in the last two league seasons, may not be an ideal fit under Wenger, and the Emirates Stadium outfit are ready to walk away should Lyon demand more money.
