According to El Desmarque, Arsenal are one of a number of clubs who have shown interest in signing Real Madrid play-maker Isco.

What's the word?

The Spanish publication claims Los Blancos are intent on freeing up some money this summer in order to land some of their main transfer targets - namely PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe.

As a result, the La Liga giants are willing to let Isco go in order to fund a potential move for the France international, and that four clubs have registered their interest in the former.

The report adds that along with Manchester City and PSG themselves, Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested taking the 27-year-old away from Madrid.

Ozil 2.0

There is no doubting that Isco certainly has the trophy cabinet to become an Arsenal player. After all, he has been a part of a Real Madrid side that won four Champions Leagues in the last decade, and a La Liga winner too in the 2016/2017 campaign.

But, in reality, the £120k-a-week ace has really failed to establish himself as a key part of the Madrid side this season. In 20 games across all competitions, he has managed just two goals, and even worse than that, is the fact he has yet to record a single assist.

Does that remind Arsenal of anyone in particular? Mesut Ozil - a former Real Madrid player himself of course - has flattered to deceive this campaign as well, scoring no goals and only providing two assists. The German is also on a hefty wage packet, reportedly earning a mind-boggling £350k-a-week.

Both Ozil and Isco are very much in their worst form possible, and are being paid eye-watering sums of money for doing not very much. It's exactly why the Gunners simply must end their interest in the latter, or else they will be simply getting another high-earning attacking midfielder with little end product on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Arsenal fans react to a contract update on this Emery signing.
