Arsenal are expected to announce their first January transfer deal as they edge closer to a deal for Legia Warsaw wonderkid Krystian Bielik, according to the Daily Star.
The 16-year-old – labelled the next Patrick Vieira – is believed to be at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon to watch his future teammates take on London rivals Queens Park Rangers.
And although Bielik is yet to confirm the move, he has has spoken of how daunting the move is for him but that he believed Arsene Wenger will be a positive figure in his development.
He said: “I confess that I’m a little bit afraid. Only a madman would have no concerns about it.
“However, you have to be confident, and I’m sure in myself and my abilities.
“I’m not saying that I expect to be in the Arsenal starting XI, but I would like to be an important and positive figure in the eyes of coach Wenger.”
The deal is believed to be worth around £1.6m, with the teenager set to put pen-to-paper on a £2,000-a-week contract.
