Arsenal Set To Be Outbid In transfer pursuit

Arsenal target Victor Valdes

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has conceded that the Gunners will struggle to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes in the summer due to the financial competition, according to the Daily Mirror.

Mega rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are set to make a move for the Spanish stopper leaving Wenger with a big job persuading Valdes that North London should be his preferred destination.

Barcelona seem content to allow their long serving number one to leave the Catalan club in the summer for £12million after the 31 year old refused to sign a long term contract extension at the Nou Camp.

The La Liga leaders are set to choose between Manchester United’s David De Gea and Liverpool’s Pepe Reina as Valdes’ replacement.

Arsenal are once again desperate to add an experienced, quality goalkeeper to their squad after Wojciech Szczesny has failed to assure Wenger that he is the long term answer to their ‘keeping woes.
